Lucky # 7 (Sean's crib)

Having this blog is another great reason to be thankful! I just recently was contacted from a family who has also adopted from Bryansk using the same agency. They found my blog on the Internet. They went to meet their son a year ago this month which was a few months before we went to Klintsy baby home for the first time. The mother wanted to share with us a few pictures she had. She had the caregivers take a couple of photos of their son in the orphanage where he slept.... and Sean happened to be in the pictures! I was thrilled behind belief to hear this news. When I got the photos and looked at them for the very first time, I balled my eyes out. My poor husband thought something was wrong with Sean, because I couldn't speak! Those photos are so special to me. It is just another snap shot in the life of our son that I will treasure forever. This is Sean in his room with all his pals. Sean and their son slept right next to each other. As always, Sean is standing up and conducting the band! My husband calls him the "cruise director" as he is always laughing and doing something!

This photo made me feel happy and sad all at the same time. I knew it was our little guy the moment I saw it.. He has a sparkle in his eye and the little smile on his face.. Priceless!!!
A big THANK YOU to Sean's bunk mates mom for sharing these photos with us!

Fun in the tub!

Sean enjoys the tub. Here are a few pics of Sean when he first came home and just recently. He was so afraid the first few times. Now he hates getting out.

So cute in his towel!

6 months home!

Sean continues to do great! He enjoys his swim class. We went today for our third lesson and Sean did not cry at all..

Sean’s latest…Sean likes to open and closes every door in the house... mainly closing them! We can hear the squeal of laughter as he plays from room to room. Of course when he is quiet, its usually a sign he is up to no good!

If I ask Sean a question and he will answer "yeah". He likes this new word. Sean also has his temper tantrum moments too. When he doesn't get to do something he wants, he starts to cry and lays down on the floor, but only for a few minutes because he realizes mom has left the room. Then he just goes on to something else.

He now likes his tummy rubbed. He takes my hand and puts in on his tummy for me to rub. Sean likes us to kiss his forehead all the time. The other day he so sweetly put his lips on my cheek to give me a kiss. My heart melted. Sean has really become attached to me and does not go to strangers as easily as he once did. If Sean hurts himself he looks to me or runs to me to make it better. He will take my hand and put it on his boo-boo for me to rub it. So sweet!!

He has brought so much joy to our lives and we love every moment with Sean.

Haircut time!

Sean does not like having his hair cut and after a few good attempts to cut Sean's hair by his Aunt and sister, I decided to take him to a kid's hair salon suitably named "Tantrums"! This worked out much better for mom and Sean. The salon was built to amuse children during their stay there. He was able to watch Elmo while getting his haircut so he actually would stop crying for a few minutes. The hairdresser is used to kids crying and was able to cut all of his hair. She will be canonized shortly. Sean had fun playing in front of the mirrors and in the kid's house.

Here are few before and after, so cute with his new haircut!!!

Elmo came on, so no more tears..

Our First Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter weekend. The weekend weather was so nice. We started by decorating eggs Friday night with Megan and Molly's help. The girls did the decorating while the boys played. Sean was more interested in playing with daddy outside. Saturday morning Sean went to his first swimming lesson. The first 10 minutes he cried and held on to mommy real tight. Then he starting coming around and began to have a great time. I was so happy to see him smile, laugh and sing in the pool. I can not wait until next week to do it again!
Finally Easter Sunday we went to church in the morning and Sean was wiggle worm for the first 15 minutes as dad had to take him outside to walk around. Then the priest blessed the congregation (Sean too) with holy water and right after that Sean was good as gold! He sat still in daddy's lap for the rest of the Mass. We enjoyed our morning with the girls and had our Easter egg hunt for Sean. We enjoyed a nice family cookout. After dinner we went to Pat's sister house for dessert. Sean had a great time chasing his cousins! On the way home Patrick & I both said what a wonderful weekend we had. Sean was tired and in bed by 7:15 that night.

Hope everyone had a great Easter!

Sean liked it when I would lift him up! He did great for his first time in such a big pool!

My little fish!! So happy he liked the pool.
