11 days and counting until we are on our way to meet our little guy.
Four WHFC families received referrals of children in May. The children are from Bryansk, Rostov, St. Petersburg, and Ivanovo.
(Happy to say we are the Bryansk referral)
Families who were referred children in the last month waited between 3-8 1/2 months. Based on the current trends, they anticipate most families with a complete dossier will wait 5-9 months for referral of a single child.
WHFC says it is difficult to predict the waiting times for new families entering the program because the variables change month to month. The waiting times are primarily affected by two things:
1.) The number of children in need of families through international adoption
2.) The number of families applying to the program
Since February 2009, WHFC has seen fewer families completing dossiers for Russia. Families entering the Russia Program now will likely experience shorter waiting times.
3 children arrived home in May. The children were from St. Petersburg and Voronezh.
