With Love from Russia

Well we made it to Bryansk! The train ride was great! We both enjoyed the ride and got some much needed sleep. We arrived at midnight and checked into the Desna Hotel. The bed was good, the smell of the room was not! We did get a good nights rest. I was up early and ready to get the day started. I was happy to have a hot shower!

We walked to the Chernigov Hotel for breakfast. At 11:00am we went to the Ministry of Education and we saw the first picture of our SON and they gave us a little background on him. Like his age, he will be 20 months old on June 24th. We signed some documents and then we were off to Klintsy Orphanage. It felt like the longest two hour ride ever. We met with the director of the orphanage, Dr. Larisa who was very new to the position and young, but was very nice. We were told that he is a healthy, happy and easy-going boy. He is the strongest in his group. They said he smiles and laughs a lot. He sleeps well and eats well. He walks holding a rail or your hands as we did with him. We were thrilled to finally get to meet our son and spend time with him, although it was way too short.

He wanted to be held and not to be put down. He did cling to both of us when we were holding him. We enjoyed playing with him on the floor. He was not afraid and did not cry. He was tired and it was late for his nap time. He seemed to enjoy all the toys we brought for him. We truley enjoyed the time we had with Sean and can not wait to share him with everyone. He his a wonderful baby boy. I can say my dream has come true, he is my very own. Before we left we signed the paperwork making our intention to adopt official.

Our doctor from RI, said that he is a healthy boy, although he was born premature he looks like fighter and has caught up nicley. He confirmed what we already knew.

Yeah! You made it. I'm sure the 2 hour drive wasn't too bad..... thinking back to ours. Ugh! You'll have to tell us all about the train ride. That is something i would have liked to have done. Congrats again and I can't wait until you're home to hear all about your trip!

I'm so glad you have a new son and nephew and grandson for everyone to spoil. Sharon and Patrick your doing a great thing and bringing so much joy to a lot of people including yourself and a little boy. Have a safe trip home and we'll see and talk to you when you get home. You'll be exhausted but flying high and you know that that bedroom that you have been putting together will finally have a wonderful little boy in it.
We love you guys. Nana & Pop Pop

Congrats on meeting your son! That's the same baby home that our little guy came from... I would love to send along a package of photos on your next trip if you are willing to take them over for us. He had the previous director, but I'm sure that some of the caregivers would enjoy seeing him in photos!

Safe travels home!
