Our life has certainly changed and it is definitely for the better since Sean has been home! He is a complete joy to be around. I look forward to getting up each day to fix his breakfast. I love the sounds he makes first thing in the morning when I get him out of his crib. I was looking at Sean just the other day, usually in amazement, and hit me that I am a mommy to this little peanut and I started to cry ”happy tears”.
I know all mothers and fathers brag about their children, but Patrick and I just think Sean is the best little boy. I can not get over how good he is. He laughs most of the time over every little thing we do with him. He enjoys his room and playing in every room in the house. He loves to play hide and seek. He likes chasing mom around the house. He also loves to look at himself in the mirror and then he just cracks up at himself.
It has been a busy few weeks for Sean with visiting friends and having visitors over like his cousins and sisters. Sean still gets so excited when he sees little kids. Sean has been going to Rascals Gym and is enjoying being with other kids. He mainly just runs around until it is time to leave. He went to the Big Apple on the train to see the Christmas Spectacular show at Radio City. He enjoyed himself and he almost made it through the show but he did fall asleep the last 30 minutes or so. It was also a great way for Patrick and I to celebrate our anniversary!
Sean is still having to visit the doctor and got three more vaccinations. It will be a while before we get all caught up with them. While we were there he tripped and fell on the chair and got himself a fat lip and was very upset. However a few minutes later he was playing in mommy’s lap. So far Sean had a little cold and then gave it to mom. Sean seems to be handling pretty well his new little teeth coming in.
Sean attachment to us is getting stronger every day. He shows affection with me when he is in his high chair and when he is on my lap. His eye contact is really improved. He is still not sure what kisses are. But mommy gives him plenty. When he hugs me it is my leg or daddy’s leg and he hugs me when he is upset or wants to be playful or when he gets scared.
Sean is responding so much better to his name as when I call him, he comes right over to me. Sean understands when I say let’s go bye-bye. He also knows that it is time to eat when I say it is yum-yum time. Sean’s language is starting to improve. He is still trying to find his words but he is pronouncing new sounds like; Nana , Eee, Mama, Dada and Daddy. He likes to roll his tongue so maybe he will be bilingual. Just before Thanksgiving I heard him say mama. He has said it quite a few times. He is also starting to repeat what I am humming or singing.
Sean does have his moments when he gets upset, but not too many. So far it’s over food especially if I do not have what he likes or if it is not ready fast enough. He does not like his diaper changed most of the time unless I make a game out of it, then he laughs at mommy. His latest is he does not like me to change his clothes he gets upset until I am all done then he is fine. He is eating well but still no hard food or textured foods or any sweets. Sean is making strides with going outside. He is starting to stand on the grass and not cry or want mom to hold him. He also is walking up and down the driveway all by himself and looks forward to it.
Sean is still sleeping well. He now brings us to his crib when he wants to go to sleep or is tired. Patrick and I were so surprised by this. I guess he knows when he is tired. He is also still singing on occasion before he goes to sleep. We know how lucky we are with his great sleeping habits and we hope it stays this way. It is like Sean has always been here with us and fell right into a routine with us.
We are happy to have Sean’s important paperwork done. We got his social security card and his US Citizenship certificate. Last thing is Patrick went to probate court to get Sean’s birth certificate from the State of CT and his passport has arrived back.
We are looking forward to Christmas. I am happy to have all my decorations up early this year. I did manage to put up all four Christmas trees this year. Sean has a few parties to go to. He will see Santa again and hopefully that meeting will go better than the first. Sean and I are baking cookies this week. Christmas Eve we will be spending at my sister in law’s house. Christmas Day I will have my family up from New Jersey (Christmas with the Kranks!). I am looking forward to seeing everyone. I truly love this time of year my favorite holiday.
Here is a few pics from the last several weeks.

He is just adorable. We loved seeing you guys. I'm so happy all three boys played so well together. Hopefully we will get them together often. And, don't worry about the food. It will come. Colby was picky at first but now eats everything, especially sweets. He knicked a candy cane off of the tree yesterday!
