Trip # 2

Back to the USSR!

We are leaving tomorrow for Moscow. We are so excited and overwhelmed with joy! We can not wait to see our Sean again! We received our passport/Visa's on Friday. We spent the weekend packing and getting the last minute details done. Patrick put the locks on the cabinets and the new gate is up on top of the stairs. I am anxious to get the court part over with and to be officially Sean's parents. Next post should be from Moscow!

Wish us luck! We are coming Sean!

Adoption Timeline

1/22/08 - We decided to adopt a little boy from Russia

2/2/08 - I did a lot of research this month to find our agency

3/5/08 - We went to our first meeting at Wide Horizons for Children and submitted our application.

3/20/08 - Started our mountain of paperwork with WHFC

4/22/08 - We meet with our social worker and our Home study began

5/1/08 - Started collecting more paperwork for our Dossier for Russia

5/16/08 - Went to our pre-adoptive class at WHFC

6/5/08 - Had our home study visit

7/9/08 - Completed our home study and was officially approved

7/14/08 - Home study submitted to immigration

8/18/08 - Sent dossier to WHFC

8/29/08 - Dossier completed and sent to Moscow

9/1/08 - We our officially, "a waiting family"

9/10/08 - Went to WHFC for our orientation class on Russia

12/9/08 - We learned our dossier was sent to Bryansk Region in Russia

1/22/09- I started our Blog

3/31/09 - Started our paperwork for Voronezh region

5/15/09- We received our referral today from Bryansk

6/17/09- 6/21/09 First trip to Bryansk Russia

6/19/09- We met our son. (a great day!) he is 19 months old

9/12/09- We were given a special baby shower, hosted by sister Mary.

9/14/09- We got the call for our court date! It's Sept 30th.

9/27/09- 10/17/09- Trip #2 Leave for Russia for our 3 week stay.

9/28/09- 8 Doctor medical exams in Moscow

9/29/09- Went to Bryansk to visit with Sean!

9/30/09- Court day. The Judge said yes!

10/1/09-10/12/09- 10 day wait in Moscow

10/12/09- Overnight train to Bryansk

10/13/09- Gotcha Day! We are a family forever! Sean is 23months.

10/16/09- US Embassy Moscow

10/17/09- Fly Home!

10/18/09- Our first day home as a Family!
