March/April updates

The monthly updates came out for March. Two referrals were received and one was matched with a sibling group.

Three children arrived home to two families in March. The children were all from Yekaterinburg.

The wait time based on the current trends, they anticipate most families with a complete dossier will wait 7-10 months. WHFC has reported that they have seen a significant slow-down in the rates at which several regions are referring children for international adoption.

Some really good news. As of April 16th, things have changed in Russia. I listened to our latest call in session with our agency and I was so encouraged by what I heard. So far this month there were four referrals. Very busy and the month is not over. This is great news(considering it has only been two referrals a month).

One referral came from Bryansk so that region is moving again! I was so excited to hear that. One other came from Voronezh and one from Yekaterinburg.

I spoke to our case manager today and we are next in line for Bryansk. (Yahoo) So we are hoping that our time is not too far off.

Our case manager and I talked about the four referrals and she also shared with me that several families received court dates this month. I commented on Yekaterinburg region saying it appears to have a lot of activity lately and she agreed. So things have changed to the positive in just a month.

Our paperwork for Voronezh has been sent to our agency today. So it is 50/50 chance for each region. Which one will come in first with our referral?
